In our local school support initiative, the principals of
Barton Elem., Highland Elem., North Grade Elem & South Grade Elem.
will be joining our meeting on November 13 to receive their $1,000 grant for projects of their choice. The principals will return at a later date to share how the funds were used.
President Amanda announced that the Carvel Ice cream Store sent us $50 for the ice cream that was sold on Oct. 10 to raise funds for Polio Plus.
A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Vero Beach Sunrise which is supporting two additional students from Lake Worth Community High School to attend the RYLA program at the end of this month.
Those students and the two our club is sponsoring are from the Junior Air Force ROTC program at the high school.
Also, thanks to SMSgt Robert Elkins, Aerospace Science Instructor (AFJROTC)-Lake Worth Community High School, who has been assisting us with this program each year.
Last week, the Lake Worth Middle and High School principals attended our meeting to receive their $1000 principal grant which is to be used for any project they see fit.
The principals of Lake Worth High School, Elena Villani, and Lake Worth Middle School, Caelethia Taylor, have both been educators for many years, and until last year Ms. Taylor was an assistant principal at Lake Worth High School before she became middle school principal.
They plan to use the grant to honor and reward their teachers for the dedication and long hours they devote to supporting and inspiring their students.
