We had a big welcome-back meeting this week with Bill and Kathy Musgrave returning from Kansas for the winter, as well as Carol Ann Wagstaff and Frank Pedro, who are back from Massachusetts.

Our speaker, Jibby Ciric from the Center for Child Counseling, shared insights into their approach to children’s mental health, covering the organization’s mission, vision, methods, and goals.


Jibby delivered an energetic and detailed presentation on their programs. They begin assessments with ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) before age 18 and PCES (Positive Childhood Experiences), emphasizing that PCES are far more critical and can significantly aid recovery from ACES.


The center serves approximately 12,000 children and families each year through four offices in Palm Beach County.


For more information on services and training, visit bekidsafe.org. Their caregiver resources and model have drawn inquiries from as far away as Australia.


In 2021, 41.5% of Palm Beach County high school students reported persistent sadness or hopelessness, while 20.7% seriously considered suicide.
